I'd like to make my own scented windex cleaner but can't find a recipe. Just adding essential oil don't work?

I've tried adding essential oils to homemade recipes I've found on the net, but it seems the cleaners and soaps in those mixtures, ';cleans'; up the scent. Is there something else I can try?I'd like to make my own scented windex cleaner but can't find a recipe. Just adding essential oil don't work?

Vinegar and water to clean windows or just to shines any thing. also good on floors. when you wash dish too.
