Can I dilute essential oil using baby oil?

I want to make an insect repellent for my baby using citronella essential oil. I know it's better to dilute it into something more organic like cooking oil. But I don't want my baby to smell like french fries. LOL.


(I used to make my own insect repellent using citronella grass when I still lived in Indonesia. It was abundant there, but I've never seen it here, so I choose to go with the essential oil instead)Can I dilute essential oil using baby oil?
Don't put anything like that on your baby's skin. The oils can be absorbed and who knows what they might do long-term.





A net over the pram / cot would be more effective and a lot safer.
