Someone gave me a bottle of it for my insomnia, but I don't know what to do with it. Do I ingest it? Smell it? Put it on my skin? I am at a loss as to what to do.How do I use Roman Chamomile Essential Oil to treat insomnia?
Not to dig on the previous poster, but since when does GNC know anything about aromatherapy? Even if they attempted to answer your question, I wouldn't trust them in a million years to know anything about essential oils. They specialize in vitamins and chemical suppliments, not aromatherapy.
Anyway.. how you use it is a personal preference (except ingest it, do not ingest it!). You can mix it with a carrier oil (you probably have olive or another pure plant oil in your kitchen) and apply it to your skin. You can heat it in an oil warmer (the kind with a tea light candle under a bowl of water), heat it on a radiator in a bowl of water, put it on a cotton ball next to your bed, put a drop or two on your pillowcase, or put a bunch of drops in a small spray bottle with water and spray it on your pillow (shake well before each use)..
The key is that you want to smell it as you're falling asleep. The aroma should be subtle, not overpowering, and how you choose to use it is really up to you. You can even smell it directly out of the bottle before you lay down, but it will work better if you use a smaller amount over a longer period of time.
The cotton ball next to the bed is really the easiest, in my opinion.. it works well, and if for some reason it's too strong, or you decide you don't like the smell, you can just throw the cotton ball away. I have used chamomile tea for the same thing and it works nice. Never heard of chamomile essential oil though. if nothing else, call your local GNC and ask them about it. I am sure they would be happy to tell you.
just put 2 drops over your temples,2 drops over wrists inner side,2 drops in a hankie and keep underneath your pillow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!鈥?and enjoy good night sleep dear!!!!
second option is take a warm bath with 2ml of oil in your bath tub!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
