Any cleaner you use needs to be rinsed off with water and then alcohol in order to make sure it doesn't leave any residue. Also, mixing with a hand blender isn't recommended - for oils, just roll the bottle between your hands. Lotions are a little more difficult, but you can mix it using a wooden spoon. i think what you are doing write now is fine
Any citrus based cleanser will lift the oils
Use DAWN dishwashing soap. I cleans oils beautifully.
