Are tea tree oil and tea tree essential oil the same thing?

I bought some tea tree essential oil (claiming to be 100% essential oil) for making lotions and lip balms, is that the same thing as tea tree oil? I now need tea tree oil for naturopathic medicinal reasons and don't want to buy more if I don't have to.Are tea tree oil and tea tree essential oil the same thing?
Yes it is . the first answer is correct it is usually 100%steam distilled from the leaves of Melableuca atteemifolia. You can use this in the medicinal uses it is the same. However be careful with the use in lip balms as it is very concertrated and if to much is used can burn the skin. I am a Natural Health Consultant so i have studied this. Hope this is helpful and good luck in your studies. Are tea tree oil and tea tree essential oil the same thing?
Yes, they are the same thing.

FYI, ';tea tree oil'; should not be confused with ';tea oil';:

Tea tree oil or melaleuca oil is a clear to very pale golden color essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous odour. It is an extraction from the Melaleuca tree.

Tea oil is a sweet seasoning and cooking oil from pressed seeds of the tea plant Camellia sinensis or the tea oil plant Camellia oleifera.
