Can I apply lavender essential oil directly to bath water?

I've never made a bath with essential oils before. When I did a little research, some websites said you can apply a few drops directly to the water, others said it first had to be diluted with something else. If so, how do I dilute it (and with something other than milk)? I have a heat rash and I want to use something that helps take it away, but not irritate my skin too much. Can I apply lavender essential oil directly to bath water?
Yes, you can. Lavender and Tea Tree oil are the only essential oils that are safe to apply to the skin without diluting. I put lavender directly on my skin, full-strength, for burns and just to relax. Unless you are allergic to it or something you should have no problem putting it in bath water! Lavender is super good for your skin. If you want to dilute essential oils, use an oil base (I use Jojoba, it doesn't go bad like grapeseed or some other ones) if you are applying them to skin. For bathwater, I am pretty sure that a drop or two in a bathtub of water counts as dilution! Good luck with the heat rash. Can I apply lavender essential oil directly to bath water?
It will be diluted after you add it to the bath water :)

Also, here is a wonderful fragrant bubble bath with essential oils that you can make at home... it's easy too!
I have added oils directly into my bathwater before, but if you are already having skin problems you might want to consider putting very little before you know how your skin is going to react.
Lavender is a perfect essential oil to add to the bath about 10 drops will do it! Here are some more uses for the oil that most dont know. I am a massage therapist that specializes in aromatherapy and lavender has so many great uses! If you add a little bit of salt in the bath water too it will help soften your skin. Apply your favorite lotion afterwards! relax!!
