Can you use 100% Pure Jojoba essential oil on the face?

I wanted to try using Jojoba oil as a makeup remover and for other skin/hair treatments. I received a bottle from a friend who purchased it in South Africa and it is labeled ';100% Pure Essential Oil - Jojoba';, so....I wanted to find out from any of you aromatherapists or other experts whether it is alright to use this stuff on my skin. I have read about many people using Pure Jojoba oil as a beauty treatment, but because this bottle is labeled ';essential'; I was wondering if the uses for it are different than other Jojoba oils. Thanks. Can you use 100% Pure Jojoba essential oil on the face?
Jojoba oil is an 'oil' and not an essential oil. But if it is labeled essential oil...and came from another country...? Is there a botanical name on the bottle? Simmondsia chinensis? If you put a drop or two on the pad of your thumb and rub your thumb hard against a finger (like you are trying to snap your fingers) and you get a squeaky feeling and sound, it may be an essential oil. If you get a slippery lubricated feeling, it is probably a base oil. Now, about using it on the face and hair. If it turns out to be a base oil, yes, you can use it on the skin and hair. Jojoba is very similar to the sebum produced by our own skin. For this reason Jojoba can be clogging to the pores for some individuals. Jojoba is very stable, it can be kept for years without oxidizing. It can be used as a base or as an additive. Personally I like something a bit lighter than the jojoba to remove make-up, like a hazelnut or light olive oil. Jojoba is popular because it is rather inert and has a longer shelf life than most vegetable oils. Can you use 100% Pure Jojoba essential oil on the face?
yeah
I'm wondering if 'essential' in the name is just the name of this particular make. Does it have any other ingredients listed in it? Jojoba oil, which is really a wax, is a carrier oil and can be used anywhere on the face and body. If it is 100% pure jojoba oil, it is probably fine. HTH : )
what
Jojoba is not an essential oil, it's probably just a fancy term the company thought of using because aromatherapy is so popular at the moment. I think the correct term should have been 100% pure virgin oil.

Jojoba is a base oil and as such, you could use it on the face without any problems. However, I'd say it's a nicer oil to use on the body, for the face, I would recommend peach or apricot kernel, it's finer.
i would not use an essential oil at 100% strength.....try adding some to a very mild base oil i.e almond oil.
