I need it for a recipe but i'm not sure where to find it... I googled health food stores but they're too far away from my house... Is there any place (other than a health food store) where i can get it?Where can I get lemon essential oil in Tampa??
You can try a cake supply store, or even cake supply sections in bigger supermarkets.
I saw some at a local GFS (Gordon Food Service) store today, but it was a pretty big container, close to $15.00 I think. Maybe they have smaller containers in Tampa.Where can I get lemon essential oil in Tampa??
If you just need it to flavor something, just substitute lemon extract. What are you making? If you're making candy, just be warned that extracts evaporate when heated. Double the amount of lemon extract for lemon oil.

What is the best essential oil for an aromatherapy steam bath to really clease your skin?
I know that ';Silky Scents'; has essential oils %26amp; organic essential oils, and they have a free recipe section. You'll probably be able to find all the information there. Plus they have the pictures of each plant. You can google their name to find them online. What is the best essential oil for an aromatherapy steam bath to really clease your skin?

What is the best essential oil for an aromatherapy steam bath to really clease your skin?
You can't use an 'aromatherapy' essential oil to 'cleanse' your skin in a 'steam bath' ... 'aromatherapy' is the 'science of scent' that gives us the 'odors' (smells) that cause us to relax, feel energized, think better, etc. For a good 'essential oil' to 'cleanse your body' there is really only one ... olive oil. In the 'ancient days' (around the time of Christ), olive oil was used to 'wash' the body and the hair ... water wasn't 'easily found' and the olive oil was a good 'moisturizer' that doesn't go 'bad' when it's heated slightly ... but if you decide to 'take an olive oil bath' when you are in your steam bath, PLEASE use AT LEAST a good 'hot water' scrubbing (most people use soap) and rinse three times in successively cooler water or you will 'stink badly' ... HOT WATER is the BEST CLEANSER we have! Anything else is just 'fluff' ... but I do 'love the suds' from my lavender and shea oil 'soap.'
Frankensense %26amp; Myrrh are supposed to be good - although expensive!

What is a good essential oil to tighten the skin.?
After i had my baby my skin got stretched out ';down there';, and im only 20. is there any home remedies, or oils or lotions that are good to tighen up the skin ';down there?'; NOT SURGERY. I have no money for that. What is a good essential oil to tighten the skin.?
Which area are you talking about? Also how long ago did you have your baby?
If its the regular skin you could try some shea butter or maybe one of those oils/creams made to prevent stretch marks. There is not a lot you can do to skin once its stretched but they might help a little. Also make sure you eat well drink lots of water and get enough good fats/oils like nuts, fish, olive oil to keep your skin healthy. If you mean the actual genital/vaginal area I would not put any kind of cream or lotion there, especially essential oils as they are usually too harsh for that type of tissue. Also that sort of thing might upset the 'balance' down there and cause yeast infections, etc?
Some changes 'down there' go away on their own after everything settles down post delivery. And some are a result of medical issues from giving birth so you might want to ask your gynecologist if you're ahving other symptoms or things feel 'weird' to you? Most changes are normal though and tend to be permanent. Its common for things to look a bit different after giving birth, there is nothing wrong with that.
The only other suggestion I have is kegel exercises but I think the best thing to do is ask your doctor about this- I am not really sure which areas you're concerned about?tvs

For essential oil scalp massage, how much should be used of a stored mixture each time-or doesnt it matter?
Like, should you use 2 tablespoons each time or doesn't it matter at all as long as the dilution of the essential oil to the carrier oil(s) was correct when you first put it in?For essential oil scalp massage, how much should be used of a stored mixture each time-or doesnt it matter?
As a Therapist, we don't put oils in our clients hair and I haven't met a client that has requested to have oil put in their hair during a scalp massage, but if you don't have any ES oil that's neat and the only thing that you do have on hand to use is 'store premixed blend', then use 2 to 3 drops of the mixture in the palm of your hand : don't really use anymore than that because no one wants oily hair.

Where can I get a special bowl for heating essential oil. Not a diffuser. The oil goes in top of bowl?
This is for using in Aromatherapy, the oil is put in the top bowl part and hot water is put in through a hole in the bottom. This is so the oil is warm when working on client. I have only seen one which was a clay pot or ceramic and was made in the USA I thinkWhere can I get a special bowl for heating essential oil. Not a diffuser. The oil goes in top of bowl?
I'm not a fan of aromatherapy, so I'm not sure how hot you need it, but maybe you can use something called a tart burner. Tart burners are usually used for melting scented candles to release the scent without a flame (fire hazard).
Check out the link below. The one I have linked has a little bowl on top which you can fill with your oil. The bowl is removable so that you can wash it.
The heat comes from a 25-watt lightbulb, which may be too hot for your needs, but I'm guessing you can replace it with a 7-watt lightbulb so that it's not as hot.Where can I get a special bowl for heating essential oil. Not a diffuser. The oil goes in top of bowl?
Do you use this warmed oil on the body? Does this oil get heated to release it into the room? There is something called a Duftlamp that uses heat, either a candle or a light bulb to heat essential oils that are too thick for a diffusor.

Does anyone have a recipe for making rose water from organic rose essential oil?
well, you are just basically going to dilute the oil in so much water, try and see how much water makes it so that you cannot smel lthe rose
anymore. then dilute with a half cup less. and remember PURE essential oils of almost anything can be dangerous if not deadly, even just put on the skin. always test a dab of the moisture on an arm or insensitive piece of skin

Dressing candles Aromas Oil vs Essential Oils, does it matter ?
I am trying to meditate using candles, and it requires Sandalwood Oil.
I bought Aroma Oil not Essential Oil. Will it still help ?? The Aroma Oil was cheaper and i didnt know it was Aroma Oil.Dressing candles Aromas Oil vs Essential Oils, does it matter ?
it's the vibrations that the smell produces in your chakra not the actual oil itself. However the aroma oils are not as true to the actual scent of the plant or herb. Burning real sandalwood would probably be the best optionDressing candles Aromas Oil vs Essential Oils, does it matter ?
In my personal opinion, a good quality candle makes a good scent. What helps you with mediation is not the type of candle you buy is the type of scent is disperses. The scent is what makes you feel comfortable and relax and that鈥檚 the key to a good mediation.
My personal favorite is natural soy candles because they don鈥檛 burn black and don鈥檛 leave residue and most important is that they have really good scent.
Y always get my candles from www.lifescentsations.com they have a very good variety of scents and they cheep to, plus they always have a free drawing every week that you could sign in for, that鈥檚 a free candle right their.
Take a look at it www.lifescentsations.com
If your meditation is not connected with some form of spell, I would suggest using sandalwood incense instead.
=) Either one works.
Yes, that will work just fine.

You need to add arrow root pwwder in order to keep the essential oils from evaporating so fast. It is their nature to do that, only some organic substances like sugar or some starches (sorry not sure about any other but arrow root) somehow bind the smell and keep it for months.

Has anyone tried Lemon Essential Massage Oil on their skin after shower?
Does it really work?
And if I try it on after bath, do I have to rinse it off later?Has anyone tried Lemon Essential Massage Oil on their skin after shower?
The good news is that a face massage is one of the best beauty treatments you can give yourself. The bad news is that, unfortunately, it does not exercise the muscles, stop the skin sagging, prevent wrinkles or act as a natural facelift. Over 80 per cent of wrinkles are caused by sun damage, the rest are hereditary; both are impossible to wipe away with the stroke of a hand. The best two weapons against premature wrinkling are protecting skin from the sun and making sure it is always well moisturized.
How to Massage the Face
This is a self-massage, so it is an ideal way for you to apply your daily moisturizer, morning or night. To give your fingers enough slip, you will need more moisturizer than usual but you will find it is quickly and thoroughly absorbed.
Alternatively, massage in a fine facial oil, such as peach kernel, apricot kernel, sweet almond, avocado or wheatgerm. These will not leave a shiny, greasy finish to the skin and are excellent moisturizers - they seal the surface so effectively that they keep more natural moisture in the skin than most cosmetic face creams. Do the massage sitting in front of a mirror until you are familiar with the movements. Do all strokes with a gentle, light hand - and do step six in private, unless you want to be laughed at........ http://www.massageforailments.com/facial鈥?/a>

Depending on the use and type of skin it's being used on.

Apricot Kernel Oil: All skin types, especially prematurely aged, sensitive inflamed and dry skin.
Avocado Pear Oil: All skin types, especially dry and dehydrated; eczema. Mix 10% dilution with another carrier oil.
Carrot Oil: For premature ageing, itching, dryness, psoriasis and eczema. Rejuvenating; reduces scarring. Mix 10% dilution with another carrier oil, like sweet almond oil.
For Massage oils: Use Olive oil; peanut oil; safflower oil; sunflower oil; sesame oil.

Why do essential oil perfume recipes use distilled water instead of regular tap water?
Distilled water has all impurities removed whereas tap water has minerals, chlorine, etc that can affect the quality and consistency of your essential oil perfumes.
You can buy a gallon of distilled water from the supermarket for about $1.00.Why do essential oil perfume recipes use distilled water instead of regular tap water?
Yep! Distilled water is the most ';pure'; form of water there is, for the most part. Want to see how dirty tap water is? Put a small amount into a sauce pan and boil it until all the water evaporates. Look at what's left in the bottom of the sauce pan. It's yucky! Report Abuse
Why do essential oil perfume recipes use distilled water instead of regular tap water?
The amount of this gunk is proportional to the amount of water in the pan, directly. Report Abuse
tap water is fine to drink. Don't let THAT concern you. The concentrations of this gunk are so low that you MAY want to boil away a LOT more water so that you CAN see the gunk that's suspended in the water. Report Abuse

Yup, where I live they cost $0.68/each

Can lavander essential oil be used directly on the face ?
Does it have to be blended with another oil ? If so can I mix it with Tea Tree oil ?Can lavander essential oil be used directly on the face ?
be careful with any oils on the face, it will cause breakoutsCan lavander essential oil be used directly on the face ?
Yes. Lavender is one of the very few essential oils that can be used 'neat'. Be sure that your essential oil is actually pure Lavender, rather than an essential oil that has been cut or a Lavandin. Please apply the oil somewhere else on your body first.

Lavender and Tea Tree oil are two oils that you can apply directly to skin without mixing with a carrier oil. However, you still do need to be careful and avoid the eye area. Tea tree oil is great for blemishes and helps to dry them up. And Lavender, works kind of the same way and is really soothing. I have a spray bottle filled with water and I add lavender and tea tree oil to it (about 8 drops each). It is very refreshing just to mist on whenever, and I also use it as a toner at bedtime.
Don't put any oil directly on the face, it clogs pores... dilute it with water if you want to put it on your face.
dont do it coz it will irritate your skin. mix it with a carrier oil like almond oil or jojoba oil. If ur using 1 drop of the essential oil 2 ml (not drops) carrier oil should be mixed.
There are many types of oils and not all of them are bad for your skin. As long as it is a true essential oil, not a perfume or fragrance oil, lavender is ok to use on your skin. Tea tree oil is ok for non-sensitive skin types. Sometimes it is best to mix in with a good quality carrier oil to help it soak in better and be less irritating. Jojoba oil is similar to the sebum that your skin produces and works well for skin oil blends. It is more expensive than other oils though.
Oil on your face isn't good, and lavender is very strongly scented and can irritate your skin.

lemon essential oil is NOT the same as lemon wood oil.
DONT use it on your wood- lemon essential oil, and all other citrus essential oils could dissolve the varnish or finish on wood.
Just use pledge. Sorry but its true.I just bought lemon essential oil from the health food store.....?
use Lemon oil about 1 cup to 4 cups of water. place your cloths in the solution and let soak. wring them out and away you go. it works great and the house smells wonderful. I got this form that program ';how clean is your house'; on the bbc america channel. I would take that essential oil back.

15 drops rosemary oil
10 drops lemon oil
5 drops peppermint oil
Dilute the oils in 2 Tsp of massage or veg. oil
Hope this helps a bit ;)Anyone knows whether Lemon essential oil can drink or not?
Yes, essential oils (EO) can be edible. Firstly, disperse EO so it can be disloved in water. Dilute it to 0.002% or lower. EO Massage is safer. 5-10% can be used by your body. If you are allergic to sun, (photo-sensitivity), avoid citric EOs (lemon, grapefruit etc). Report Abuse

3/4 ounce beeswax, shaved
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water (or rose water)
24 drops (1/4 teaspoon) essential oil
Heat wax and oil in a pot until wax is melted. In a separate pot, heat water just until warm to touch. Whisking the water at high speed, slowly add the oil-beeswax mixture in a tiny stream. The whole concoction should begin to solidify when 3/4 the oil-beeswax has been added. As this happens, add the essential oil and carefully stir in the top edges as they begin to firm up. Using a rubber spatula, pour the cream into wide-mouth jars while still warm.
Some good manufacturers of unscented creams are Alba, Kiss My Face, Mill Creek and Nature's Gate.If you want to mix an essential oil with a cream?
You can use unscented cream which you will find on health store or online store.
Other option is you can find online recipes, usually they already stated there. I have mine used with beeswax and mango butter.

Has anyone ever used Gentle Baby Essential Oil to help with labor?
I've heard this could help with dilation. has anyone ever used it?Has anyone ever used Gentle Baby Essential Oil to help with labor?
No but my midwife used and recommends olive oil!
It helps - ish.Has anyone ever used Gentle Baby Essential Oil to help with labor?
No. Dilation? Like shoving it up your vagina? Ick. Nope.
My cousin who has had 5 kids without epidurals swears that rubbing essential oil on the outside of the vagina and perineum help with stretching and prevents an episiotomy, but I have never heard of it being used inside.
YES, I used it with all 3 of my kids and I still use it on them when they are sick. I rub it on their feet and it helps calm them and they rest a lot better. It don't hurt you it is a all natural oil. I say go for it! and good luck and congrats.
I wouldn't. Don't try to force yourself to dilate- your body will do what it needs to when it's ready. If you make yourself dilate before you're ready, you're going to end up having to be induced, which can be painful and long. Let nature take its course.
i wouldnt do that! lol if your doctor wants you to dilate they will put a gel in to ripen your cervix and get you going but i have never heard of this.
I wouldn't..... I have only heard of oils to help with the stretching of the skin around the vagina.
Nope never used ittvs

Can I burn my essential oil in a oil warmer?
Yup...but don't put the oil in straight. Add some water to the warmer (probably about 1/3 full would be good) and add a few drops of the oil. If it's still not strong enough after a little while, add a few more drops. Can I burn my essential oil in a oil warmer?
I do it just like Janzies, but I use at least 6 drops of oil. It will dry fairly fast, so you will probably need to keep an eye on it, and add a little more water as needed. Can I burn my essential oil in a oil warmer?

Can fragrance oil replace essential oil?
I am trying to make solid perfume. But essential oils are way too expensive, if I replace essential oil with fragrance oil in the recipe, is it okay? Can fragrance oil replace essential oil?
idk dont ask me stupid questions im not good with historyCan fragrance oil replace essential oil?
The difference between fragrance oil and essential oil is that fragrance oil is artificial and essential oil is natural. Pure essential oil has therapeutic properties but fragrance oil does not. You can replace essential oil by fragrance oil if the product is not for therapeutic purposes. In fact, some essential oils are not that expensive such as orange, mandarin, lavender and petitgrain.

Is it safe to apply pure lavender essential oil ?
Is it safe to apply pure lavender essential oil on the face of a six-year old boy ? Not all over the face of course - but by applying it with a cotton bud on three small ';warts'; (molluscum c's) ?
Thank you :-)Is it safe to apply pure lavender essential oil ?
Lavender and tea-tree are usually the essential oils that are safe to put directly on the skin, but I wouldn't use lavender for molluscum - which is contagious and can spread over the rest of the body and sometimes can become infected. It is not dangerous. But you should take him to see a homeopath in order to distinguish the growths i.e. whether they are warts or molluscum and an appropriate treatment needs to be given. Is it safe to apply pure lavender essential oil ?
You should bring the boy to see a doctor to get it laser off as they can be contagious. Although lavender oil has healing properties, the spread of warts will still persist as it's cause by the contagious HPV, the same kind that causes genital warts. Lavender is more known to be antiseptic and anti-bacterial. To temporarily treat the problem, apply Tea Tree oil neat (soak a cotten-bud with it) on the warts and nowhere else. Tea Tree oil is highly anti-viral. Please not that this is a temporary measure so do get the boy to see a doctor asap.
Lavender oil can be applied neat (without carrier oil) but for the warts use some Oil of Oregano to clear them up.
/Lamar
yes completly safe. Maybe duluty it with a little almon if you wish but it don't hurt him if you know he is not allergic.

How can the essential oil Rosemary be dangerous? Chemically how can it harm us?
Rosemary has a stimulating effect so it should be used with caution. Heavy overuse could result in nervous twitches or muscle spasms. There are warnings about using Rosemary during pregnancy, but there is little evidence of these dangers. The warnings stem from effects of one of the hundreds of chemical compounds in the oil, other than the Rosemary itself.
Hope this helps!

Edit: **Large quantities of rosemary leaves can cause adverse reactions, such as coma, spasm, vomiting, and pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs) that can be fatal. (Found on Wikipedia - link is below!)How can the essential oil Rosemary be dangerous? Chemically how can it harm us?
According to wiki Rosemary has medical properties due to the organic compounds it contains.. For a medicine to work it binds to a receptor site, interferes with something or it improves the function of something due to the interaction of the compounds in the plant.
An oil of a plant fruit etc, in this case Rosemary, is a concentrated residue of the plant, ie with all the water taken out, no chlorophyll sugars and such that are found in plants. Such oils can use 100 of plants just to make a couple of mLs of oil. (Jasmine for example). Then rosemary is used as a medicine it maybe just be a couple of leaves or a plant, but as it is a oil it maybe a whole plant or several plants used.
As it is concentrated also the active ingredients'/compounds of the plant will be concentrated. Taking too much of any medicine will cause damage due to too much interaction with the biochemical process that keep the body healthy. Also in the case of some person will have an allergic reaction to it.
Hope this helps!

Which essential oil is used to lighten the skin?
I have a good bit and I want to know which one will get rid of a few blemishes I have on my faceWhich essential oil is used to lighten the skin?
I STRONGLY advise against the lemon essential oil applied to the skin. It is too strong. Most citrus essential oils are photosensitizing, Meaning you'll get a skin reaction from sun exposure. And lemon's one of them.
I don't know of any essential oils to lighten the skin but if you are trying to heal blemishes and scars from blemishes some oils that come to mind are Lavender, calendula and rose. All of these I would seek oil in a diluted form, like in a cream or a carrier oil, like almond. Borage seed oil and Tamanu oil also have healing properties for the skin and blemishes. Tea Tree oil is good for applying to the blemishes to get rid of them.Which essential oil is used to lighten the skin?
';kinshukadi Tailam'; an oil prepared by any Ayurvedic pharmacy should prove to be the most suitable for your problem. Besides removing the blemishes it also has the property to make the skin lighter and glowful.
I have used the product manufactured by M/S Mohata Ayurvedic Rasayanshala, Station Road, BIKANER , Rajasthan, India.; and found the product excellent for my grand daughter who was slighty blakish in complexion. Now she has improved as wheatish complexion with glowing skin.

When you steam your face at home, is it ok to put in a few drops of tea tree essential oil?
and then put on a clay mask right after? When you steam your face at home, is it ok to put in a few drops of tea tree essential oil?

Yes, you can add a few drops of essential oils to the water you use to steam your face. That is also a good method to treat a respiratory affliction. If you are applying a clay mask to your face immediately after the steam, you can add the oils to the clay rather than the water.
Yes, it is perfectly fine to do that. Make sure you don't do it excessively though!

How to separate essential oil and water?
Hi,
I faced a problem of separating essential oil and water after extraction it from the plant.
I search for literature review but they did not describe much as well.the volume of essential oil i obtained from plant leaves is very little compared to the water, therefore i cannot do further analysis. How to separate essential oil and water?
By using separating funnel you can separate the essential oil and water and also using the distillation process you can separate . Even it is in very little amount take suitable solvent for oil and separate .
Liquid chromatography techniques are better to try....

Can you put in drops of tea tree essential oil in a face steam?
or will that hurt the skin? Can you put in drops of tea tree essential oil in a face steam?
Tea tree oil is great for the skin! It's antiseptic and anti-bacterial, among other things, making it really good if you have acne, little blackheads, or even any skin type. The steam will help open your pores and the tea tree will help cleanse it.
You just need a drop or two, depending on what you're using for the steaming. It's generally a non-irritating oil, so unless you have a rare allergy, it shouldn't irritate your skin at all.Can you put in drops of tea tree essential oil in a face steam?
Tea Tree oil is great for the skin, and as long as it's diluted shouldn't do any harm (although I've used it straight without any problems).
It should be fine.
Start with the smallest amout you can and add more if that doesn't irritate your skin.

only if it's food-grade
most essential oils are not. The oil is quite strong, so you would only need a tiny bit, like one drop to a pot.

Can I dilute essential oil using baby oil?
I want to make an insect repellent for my baby using citronella essential oil. I know it's better to dilute it into something more organic like cooking oil. But I don't want my baby to smell like french fries. LOL.
(I used to make my own insect repellent using citronella grass when I still lived in Indonesia. It was abundant there, but I've never seen it here, so I choose to go with the essential oil instead)Can I dilute essential oil using baby oil?
Don't put anything like that on your baby's skin. The oils can be absorbed and who knows what they might do long-term.
A net over the pram / cot would be more effective and a lot safer.tvs

How do you make an incense using a charcoal, and essential oil?
Make sure that your charcoal bricquet is completely dry %26amp; contains none of that chemical which helps to start the fire (as in Kingsford).
Cut it into small dice sized pieces %26amp; add the scented oils that you want... do this sparingly or you're going to have a fire when you try to light these.
Let them ';cure'; for at least 2 hours so that the oil soaks through the charcoal... then use them in metal containers with a lid handy.
Don't forget to blow out the flame %26amp; let only the embers burn.

Does green tea come in an essential oil? Am looking for a way to use as sunscreen...?
I know that green tea protects from the sun, which is why I was wondering if it came in an essential oil I could use on my face with shea butter, as I do not feel like boiling green tea every morning and applying it to my face with a washcloth.
Please tell me where I could find some, 100 percent non diluted and preferably organic.
Thanks.Does green tea come in an essential oil? Am looking for a way to use as sunscreen...?
There is no such thing as green tea essential oil. The volatile oils of green tea can't be extracted by steam. If you see a product that claims to be ';green tea essential oil';, it's a scam, because the product can not be made.
You can find a green tea absolute, but being an absolute, it means that it was extracted using a solvent, most likely hexane. The finished product is ';washed'; and will only contain trace amounts of the solvent, but it definitely won't be organic. Absolutes are commonly used in perfume, but are not the same as essential oils and are rarely used in aromatherapy.
Green tea absolute is thick and sticky (like most absolutes), and it's very hard to work with. It has a strong smell, and even in perfumery is only used in tiny amounts. Plus, essential oils and absolutes do not have the same properties of whole plants. They aren't concentrated versions of plants. I've never looked up the healing properties of green tea absolute since I only use it for perfume, but I have a hunch that it's not going to offer any protection from the sun, especially in the tiny amounts that you'd be using.
If I were you, I'd research making an infused oil (a little messy, but very simple to do) with dried green tea leaves. I'm not sure if the constituents of tea are even oil soluble, but you could do some checking. Or, you could go in another direction completely and find another herb that helps protect against the sun.Does green tea come in an essential oil? Am looking for a way to use as sunscreen...?
I googled green tea essential oil and found this for you:

Go to the organics section in your local grocery market, or ask a pharmacist at any drug store in your area. If you have any bulk food stores or health food stores in your area, try there as well.
Yes there is such as thing as green tea oil. I would recommend going to a local vitamin shoppe that is targeted toward organic products, or buying something online if that is not feasible.

I googled green tea essential oil and found this for you:
http://www.google.com/products?sourceid=…
Hope this helps you some.
If an essential oil is said to be pure, is it food grade or not?
An essential oil is food grade when pure? If you want to know what oils, then here. We have pure essential oils of Peppermint (Mentha piperita) and Eucalyptus (Eucalypti aetheroleum). Now are the two essential oils food grade or not? Thanks in advance. If an essential oil is said to be pure, is it food grade or not?
NO!!!!
Do NOT take Euclayptus oil internally!!!!!
That stuff is poisonous. More than a teaspoon or two will make your seriously ill and quite possibly kill you.
Pure means pure, unmixed, refined. It does not mean safe. You can get pure arsenic and pure dogshit as well. That doesn't mean those things are safe for human consumption. If an essential oil is said to be pure, is it food grade or not?
'Food Grade' is a designation given by the US FDA. The FDA labels essential oils as food grade if they are used as flavoring. These EO's would be manufactured in a facility that has FDA oversight. Please educate yourself on the dangers and contraindications before using internally.

Pure does NOT mean food grade!! Eucalyptus can be poisonous! So can other ';essential oils';.
Food grade means that it is fit for human consumption.
Pure generally means that there are no other substances in it, though the law may allow low levels of contaminants and still allow the label to say ';pure';.tvs

Maximum dilution levels for each essential oil in scalp massage?
hello.
ive heard of someone that Lavender can go up to 10%. and the normal dilution level is 2.5% can essential oils go any higher than this in scalp massage or can some go higher?
thankuMaximum dilution levels for each essential oil in scalp massage?
It depends on the oil. Lavender has been shown to be safe in dilutions up to 16%, but some oils should be used in dilutions no more than 1%.
I have two safety manuals:
Essential Oils and Safety by Robert Tisserand and Tony Balacs
and
Plant Aromatics by Martin Watt
that I follow. Both have numerous references regarding studies done to show the safety levels of oils. Also, you can check the IFRA restrictions on certain oils (just google ';IFRA essential oils';).Maximum dilution levels for each essential oil in scalp massage?
I wouldn't do 10%. Remember less is more with essential oils. I personally wouldn't go much above 1% dilution.
remember that some people can have sensitivities to the oils and that using them in too high of a concentration can really irritate the skin

essential oils work on all levels of the body; physical, mental and spiritual. I hope you're diluting them in a base oil before you apply to the skin, otherwise you're severely damaging tissues. some, such as rosemary are brain stimulating, the chemical composition of rosemary makes your brain more alert, it receives more oxygen etc..

How to use rosemary essential oil?
I have a very itchy and sensitive scalp!
I heard that rosemary essential oil is very good for dandruff.
How can i use is? with what should i mix it! (coz it's very concentrate and i have a greasy scalp, i can't just use any oil!)How to use rosemary essential oil?
Since rosemary essential oil mainly helps invigorate and promote hair growth, it is actually best used in combination with other essential oils that have anti-bacterial and dandruff fighting qualities - such as tea tree oil, lavender essential oil, peppermint essential oil and jojoba oil.
Here is one way they are used together:
Mix two drops each of tea tree, peppermint, and rosemary essential oils in a capful of jojoba oil to make an anti-dandruff treatment. Tea tree oil has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, peppermint oil soothes itchiness, and rosemary essential oil invigorates and promotes hair growth. Jojoba oil resembles sebum in the skin and scalp and makes a perfect base oil because of its high absorption rate.
Pour the treatment oil into a cup and massage into scalp using fingertips. Continue to massage the scalp for five minutes, and let the treatment get thoroughly absorbed. Massaging can help reduce dandruff by encouraging circulation in the scalp.
Leave the treatment on scalp overnight and wash it in the morning using a gentle shampoo. Avoid using a conditioner. The essential oil treatment not only treats dandruff, but also acts as a natural conditioner.
You can also add a few drops of tea tree and rosemary essential oils to a shampoo to cleanse the scalp thoroughly and add a boost to the anti-dandruff essential oil treatment.
Here are some other natural remedies for dandruff:
* To clear up dandruff you need to counter the cause of the problem: your scalp's acidic pH level. To restore your scalp's natural alkaline pH level, first wash and condition your hair. Then, while still in the shower or bath, pour a cup of apple cider vinegar on your head and rinse with water.
* Aloe Vera gel . About 10-15 minutes before you wash your hair, rub a lot of aloe vera gel into your scalp. Leave it on for 10 minutes, and shampoo your hair as you normally do. Do this every day and dandruff should stay away.
* Use lime juice to wash your hair.
* Soak two tablespoons fenugreek seeds in water overnight. In the morning grind into a fine paste. Apply all over scalp and leave for 陆 an hour. Wash with mild shampoo.
* Olive oil and almond oil. Mix the olive oil with the almond oil and apply to the scalp. Leave it on about 5 minutes after it starts to burn. Rinse well to clear dandruff.
* Coconut oil. Massage your hair with warm coconut oil and apply the juice of two lemons, steam your hair and leave the oil on for about two hours. Shampoo with a mild shampoo. Repeat two to three times a week.
* Neem leaves. Boil a handful of neem leaves in four teacups of water. After cooling and filtering, use for rinsing hair.
* Vinegar. Soak the scalp with vinegar, wrap a towel around your head and sleep all night. In the morning, the dandruff should be gone because the yeast bacteria should all be killed, and it should last for weeks.
* Thyme. Boil four tablespoons of the herb in two cups of water for 10 minutes, strain, and allow it to cool. Pour the mixture over clean, damp hair and massage it in.How to use rosemary essential oil?

For an essential oil scalp massage, how much (ml) should i use each time?
Please somebody answer. This question seems to be like the plague. For an essential oil scalp massage, how much (ml) should i use each time?
Essential oils are not greasy. They are not the same as cooking oils or massage oils.
You do need to mix the essential oil with a carrier, because it's so concentrated that it takes a very small amount to achieve the desired effect and you want to distribute the oil evenly around the area. Also, some essential oils are considered too potent to be used full strength on the skin and need to be diluted in a carrier oil first to prevent reactions. For the scalp, no more than 1 or 2 drops would be enough of the essential oil, diluted in probably no more than an ounce or two of carrier oil, depending on how much hair the person has.For an essential oil scalp massage, how much (ml) should i use each time?
essential oils aren't necessarily greasy..the stuff isn't like baby oil, or motor oil for that matter...
there is no need to go overboard with this sort of thing. simply a drop on each fingertip can do the job effectively, repeat if desired.
No Oil is needed during a scalp massage, and if you're only using the ES on the scalp, then a drop in the palm of your hand is all you need each time.
put some on your fingertips and massage...need more massage...apply a bit more to fingertips...so your scalp wont be too oily...also adding avocado oil will take away the greasiness a bit

What essential oil can I use to safely drain my sinuses from serious allergies?
Tea Tree Oil (Health Food Store) PURITY is what you want to find but you should test your skin first...It can work really well but some skin may not like it.

In addition to essential oils, have you considered taking Goldenseal to help control mucus flow in the body?
Also, peppermint oil, but just a drop on the tip of your finger and swab below your nostrils.. this will act something like vicks vapor rub(menthol)....
Grapefruit Seed Extract is a first aid all natural product that sells for about $10 a one ounce bottle. You can get it in the drug store and it wears the First Aid cross on it. It gives general, easy to follow directions on the bottle and can be used for more than one thing. It's extremely good for allergies.
Also, purchase a Vanilla lip balm and keep it on your person for sudden allergy attacks and sneezing.
Tea Tree Oil (melaluca), Peppermint, and especially eucalyptus oil are all great. If you want to try to cure the allergy once you take care of the drainage you should check out Neti Pots. They were recently featured on Oprah and seem to work really well for a lot of people. www.in-sighthealth.com offers them as well as free nutritional advice. They can answer just about any question you might have.
Yes, take some deep whiffs of tea tree oil. Another good one is eucalyptus oil.

Can i use mango seeds as a potential source of Essential oil?
Can i get essential oil from these seeds? tenks..Can i use mango seeds as a potential source of Essential oil?
Mango seeds do not have any essential oil so it is not a potential source of any oil of that type.
The seeds are rich in carbohydrates and proteins and not oil.Can i use mango seeds as a potential source of Essential oil?
No, you cannot get essential oil from Mango seeds. They can be processed for oil, but that is a nut oil rather than an essential oil. The process requires heavy machinery that grinds and presses the seeds, it is unlikely that you could manage that at home.
Essential oils are processed by steam press, and it takes a massive amount of plant matter to deliver a single ounce of essential oil.
Essentially, no you can't.
No I don't think you can.

What is the difference between Essential oil and extract?
Extract is usually an essence combined with an alcohol solution.
Essential oil is usually some sort of plant distilled over water. What is the difference between Essential oil and extract?
extracts are (vanilla, cherry, almond) flavoured with alcohol
and essential oils are non-edible expressed over waterWhat is the difference between Essential oil and extract?
An extract is the combination of the flavor and alcohol. An essential oil is the oil alone extracted from the fruit, usually the peel. For example, a lemon peel contains essential lemon oils, to make it into an extract it is combined with an alcohol solution. I did look up the essential oils, to be sure, in an online dictionary. Some essential oils are not to be injested, those are used for aromatherapy only.

Do i need to put water in an essential oil burner?
i got this burner and i know underneath goes the tealight candle and the essential oil goes on top...but do i need to add water first and then put drops of essential oil? thanks!Do i need to put water in an essential oil burner?
No water - just put about 5 or 6 drops of the oil and have it in a place that you can see it so you make sure the oil doesn't run out. It should last quite a while though. You'd be amazed how the smell fills up a room - they are great!Do i need to put water in an essential oil burner?
No. Water is not needed. Also note that water and oil don't mix with a heated source and can become a burn or fire hazard.
yes put the water in first then add a few drops of essential oil, putting the oil in direct will dry out too soon and possibly crack the burner
Yeah you fill it up with water about 3 quarters full and then add about 2 or 3 drops of essential oil. Enjoy!
P.S. My husband tried it with just oil, and it got black really quick and started stinking. The water heats up and helps the oils to evaporate, you don't want to burn the oil!

If i were to put some essential oils into my lotion, is there any kind of lotions to oil ratio?
also, what essential oils do you think would smell good when mixed with baby lotion? i also have a burts bees carrot lotion i would like to spice up with some oils. what would go good with that? any info is much appreciated. If i were to put some essential oils into my lotion, is there any kind of lotions to oil ratio?
when mixing my oils in a carrier oil or lotion, i use between 1 and 3 drops per 5ml, depending on the strength of the oil and whose skin i will be applying it to.
which oils are you thinking of using?
my advice would be not to add to any oil/lotion that is scented in any way.
is the baby oil for you or a baby? don't use essential oils on a baby until they are 6 months old if you are not practiced in using essential oils as can cause irritation or adverse reaction.
if it is for you, i would recommend a plain carrier oil, such as grape seed or sunflower oil, or olive oil if your skin is a little dry. these are usually hypo-allergenic too.
is it to treat a condition or use to smell good or for massage between you and a partner? if the latter dont use any oils if they get near the genitals you'll know about it!!!
give me an idea of the context in which you are using [ie, in the bath, after a shower, each morning etc] and i can try and help a little with the choice of oils
xIf i were to put some essential oils into my lotion, is there any kind of lotions to oil ratio?
For general use...and by that I mean topically and daily a 3-10% is fine. If you are using the essential oils to treat something specific or you just want a stronger smell, you can increase that to around 25%.
Now...be aware that some essential oils may irritate your skin (peppermint, benzoin and quite a few more) you will likely notice the irritation if you use the oils right after you shave, you may have some nicks and the skin is just generally vulnerable than. Some oils are going to make you photosensitive (citrus).
Another thing to be aware of is that there are some additives to your lotions that the essential oils may break down. It may get more thin than you anticipate. If there are synthetic fragrances, the essential oils may react in an unexpected way. There may be some chemistry going on in that bottle!
Now...how do I determine percentages?
Let's say that one ounce is 900 drops. I got to that # because one ounce is 30 mls and 30 mls is 30 drops. 3% of 900 drops is 27 drops (let's say 1 ml) 10% is 90 drops (let's say 3 mls). You will need to do the math for whatever amount of lotion or oil you want to add essential oils to.
Regarding your 'what should I add' question... that's a bit difficult to answer because everyone has personal preferences and because I am not sure just what the existing dominant smell is in the product.
Something floral is Bois de Rose, Palmarosa, Rose Geranium, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, Labdanum, Frankincense. Or any combination of those.
Nutmeg, Litsea Cubeba, Jasmine, Clary Sage, Sandalwood and Frankincense are nice together...or any combination of those.
Good luck!
They go a long way, so don't use much at all. Just a couple of drops in the whole bottle. I'm not so good with the mixing smells thing, so I don't have an answer for you for that part.
10 to 20 drops per 8 ounces of lotion. Some oils are stronger than others and some people are prone to irritation, so test a few drops of oil and carrier oil on your skin to see if you fall into this category.

How do essential oils like Lavendar oil work against flu and cold germs?
An accupuncturist told me that to keep cold and flu germs out of my cubicle I should use lavandar essential 4 drops per quart of water and spray in my cubicle each day and that I would be free from those germs. I asked him about lysol and he said it doesn't work the same way and is actually harmful. How do essential oils like Lavendar oil work against flu and cold germs?
As a certified aromatherapeutic, I'll tell you that your acupuncturist gave you some misleading information. All you need is distilled water and plastic sprayer so that you can shake it up each time before you use it. Most of the information you find have you spending a crap load of money where there is no need to. Treatment needs to be quick as it allows the good bacteria access to combat the bad; tea tree oil- 2 drops, eucalyptus- 3 drops, clove- 1 drop. Add these to the distilled water in the sprayer and anytime you feel like it, spray. Just remember to shake it thoroughly. How do essential oils like Lavendar oil work against flu and cold germs?
I dont take much stock in that stuff.. try my cold killing cocktail.. during the flu season I take a regular dose of Vitamin C, Eccanacia, and zinc.
Essential oils work but you have to get the good brands not the cheap and nasties from the $2 store.
Preferably organic and preferably the right variety of lavender( Lavendula angustifolia). All lavender is not the same.
Jurlique and also Young Living are 2 superior brands.
I'd go for a combination of cloves, lemon, cinnamon and rosemary for that job.
Also better to ask an aromatherapist rather than an accupunturist.
Lavendar is used for the following respiratory ailments as a Antiseptic, antispasmodic. It is used for throat infections, flu, bronchitis, whooping cough, asthma, sinus congestion, laryngitis, tonsillitis. It is used in steam and as a room spray, as suggested by the acupuncturist. It is a germ killer and you could boost the effects with lemon oil.
Huh...never heard that! I'll have to try it!
sometimes things like that r just a big spam
essentially, they don't work. The idea is that the lavendar will make the air more acidic, the problem is that flu and cold viruses are not airborn, they are passed physically. Lysol will destroy the viruses on surfaces, but has to be applied every hour.
You are better served by washing your hands every hour.

Will rubbing Rosemary essential oil on the tummy induce a miscarriage?
The person is 2 months and 2 weeks pregnantWill rubbing Rosemary essential oil on the tummy induce a miscarriage?
Nope, taken internally as a infusion can at the right time of the month reduce the chances of a fertilized egg implanted intot he lining of the uterus. And apparently it causes spontaneous miscarriages in rabbits at super high doses, that's probably the reasoning behind the warning around rosemary essential oil.
No herb or essential oil can dislodge a pregnancy at that late after a missed period. I am giving you this site, so you understnad that herbs will NOT be effective for your intended purpose.
http://sisterzeus.com/List.htm
*The first, is using certain herbs to induce miscarriage, also called herbal abortion. It is not a sure way to terminate pregnancy, and seems to work about 40-45% of the time, IF herbs are started early enough. If herbal abortion is attempted and is not successful it is very important to follow up with a clinical abortion, as the herbs can cause birth defects and or complications during pregnancy. Herbs are most commonly used during the time period when an embryo is developing the foundations for all of the major body systems, organs in particular. This occurs from developmental weeks 4 through 8, which is the time that herbs are used. This is why, it is so important to follow up with a clinical abortion if the herbs don't work. The risk of causing damage is very real. Just because this is something you can do at home, doesn't make it safe or without risk. There can be negative effects to you, or to any pregnancy carried to term. Just like they say, just because its natural doesn't make it safe.

Please take your friend to Planned Paretnhood . . ..
If you go to a Planned Parenthood clinic that has a low-income program it can be as cheap as 100$. If you tells them you have no job, no money and no support they will likely have you pay the minimum for the procedure and get donations to cover the rest. 1-800-230-PLAN (1-800-230-7526) to find the Planned Parenthood clinic nearest you.
You have the choice between the pill (which can be taken up to 11weeks, at home or at a friends house) or the vacuum method (in clinic procedure). Personally I used the pill method so I could be at home with my husband but some women want to have the surgical, so it's done and over with when they leave the clinic.
If you are underage you may want to check this site out to see about parental consent laws and whatnot. http://www.sexetc.org/state
I respect that it is your choice and understand that you are probably doing what's best for you. If you want/need to talk about it drop me an email.
Please do not listen to these women calling you names, it is entirely possible to have an abortion and not feel guilt because you knew it was the right thing to do.

No, it all depends on your body. Some people may feel more comfortable doing that, but no. And how you eat, if you're taking care of your body.
No.
no. it will make you smell odd.

What is a good penetrating oil to use when blending with essential oils?
Forget watery bland almond oil as a carrier. Only use first pressed virgin olive oil, wonderfully rich, silkily smooth, slowly seeps into your skin so it is fantastic for massage too. What is a good penetrating oil to use when blending with essential oils?

What is a good penetrating oil to use when blending with essential oils?
jojoba oil is most like the skins own natural oils so should be used to blend if youre using it on the skin especially.
Essential oils are not true oils, or lipids; they are esters. If you blend essential oils with a water based lotion, they will absorb more readily. Vegetable oils tend to pass through the dermal layer more slowly, thus slowing how quickly essential oils reach the blood.

Have your carpet steamed cleaned at the car wash. The smell of prawns will stay if you don't clean it.
I use the My Shaldan car fresheners, orange scented. It takes the stale new car smell out of my car.
I like Rose scents, but it might make you sleepy. You really should have it cleaned. If you carry prawns often, you need to prevent them from leaking and creating a stench or clean it after each trip. If it isn't often, just have your car cleaned. Some nice rose oil or leather scent should do nicely to keep things smelling nice the rest of the time or peppermint if the rose makes you sleepy.

Where can i find lemon myrtle essential oil without buying online?
I live in Sacramento, CA and was curious what kind of store might have this product? I was going to use it for topical reasons since it's healthy for the skin, but where do i begin my search in the phone book?? Any help on this would be great!! It would be even better if someone could look up my area and pin-point a local store for me since i don't have much time...but that might be asking too much..? :)Where can i find lemon myrtle essential oil without buying online?
I cant look up a store for you but I would suggest going to a health food store or a holistic medicine store.

I've made an essential oil mixture in a bottle for scalp massage, can I vary the amounts of it I use each time?
Eg Should i use 20ml each time or can i use 5ml then 10ml or even 50ml. Doesn't it matter as long as the dilution is ok?I've made an essential oil mixture in a bottle for scalp massage, can I vary the amounts of it I use each time?
I wouldn't use a lot. remember that essential oils can be toxic in high amounts.I don't know how much carrier oil you used, but I wouldn't have more than two or three drops of essential oil used on the scalp at once even if it is diluted. Just because it's diluted doesn't mean you should use more essential oil.
think of it like drinking achohol, just because it's diluted doesn't mean that you can have as much as you want without negative effects
I hope that made sense.
remember less is more with essential oilsI've made an essential oil mixture in a bottle for scalp massage, can I vary the amounts of it I use each time?
It would depend on what kind of essential oil you used, some are much more powerful (and potentially toxic) than others. For something like lavender, which is pretty safe, you can vary how much you use.

How do I go about marketing a perfume/essential oil blend that actually attracts men and women ?
It's 100% organic.I buy the ingredients from a major wholesaler with an impecable reputation for quality oils. The reaction I've gotten is amazing. I've sold quite a few bottles on my own but not enough to make a living. It actually attracts men without the use of pheromones. When it worked for me, I sent out some average looking women to clubs wearing it and the results were astounding. My fear is that my ';Enchantment Oil'; will be stolen by a big company and reproduced without me seeing a dime.I've sold it thru a couple of ';New Age'; type shops...but they don't really push it.I'm bringing a bunch of samples to a get together for mother's and grandmothers whose single daughters can't attract a husband/ boyfriend, later this month...kind of like a ';Matchmaker in a bottle';. Any thoughts out there? How do I go about marketing a perfume/essential oil blend that actually attracts men and women ?
It is advisable to employ a professional to market the product for you. But if this is not the way you want to go, I suggest doing anything you can to create a 'buzz' for your product buy selling it anyway you can! First of all you need a good name for your product and attractive packaging. I wouldn't recommend going the 'new age' route. In order to maximise your product potential, it needs to be more mainstream and modern. For a start, if you were to stick to the name, I would cut out the 'oil' and just call it 'Enchantment'. Although you could come up with a less 'romantic' name and a more exciting one!Create a website and set yourself up at conventions, such as the 'beauty and body show'. These kinds of shows help you to present and sell direct to thousands of image %26amp; brand conscious visitors, showcase your products and services, meet clients face-to-face, build client databases and optimise brand awareness. Ann Summers, Victorias Secrets, The Body Shop, Lush, etc. are just a few companies I can think of that might be interested in this kind of product. Oh, and make sure you protect your product's 'secret formula' by drawing up a contract with however might have access to it! By the way, are you selling it on ebay? This is the first place I would start selling while you get things going! I will be looking out for it! Good luckHow do I go about marketing a perfume/essential oil blend that actually attracts men and women ?
I think free samples -- tiny ones -- would be the way to go. If a woman (or a man) wears it and has great luck with the opposite sex, they are probably going to want more. Short of that, I think you are doing the right thing with it. I think the witchy/new age market is where you need to concentrate. It will take time for people to realize that it really does work, but once it happens, you will be sitting on a gold mine.
Good luck!
Contact a marketing firm but be sure that you have the capability to produce the product in mass quantity should it take off. Of course make sure that you have really good labeling and packaging as well. Try to secure some upfront capital to expand your production capability. The name of the product will be extremely important. Something like ';Allure'; Good Luck!tvs

Is there such a thing as white ginger essential oil?
Just to make it clear I do not mean fragrance oil. I mean Pure EO oil.Is there such a thing as white ginger essential oil?
Essential oil of Ginger is from the root. I have not heard of an essential oil from the flowers. It is likely that the name White Ginger Flower is a brand name of a synthetic fragrance. It is also likely that the flowers don't lend themselves to extraction, that nothing of worth is produced. Additionally, I suspect that any product of the flowers would be an enfleurage. Is there such a thing as white ginger essential oil?
The pure essential oil is fragranced already. You can use it how you like either as a fragrance for yourself or a room fragrance. You cannot get White Ginger Essential oil without it being fragranced. The Ginger in it is what gives it it's smell.

Don't know about ';passing out'; - but probably the most useful for easing you to sleep is Bulgarian Lavender, or French Lavandin Super. Other useful ones are Mandarine, and sometimes Roman Chamomile or Sweet Marjoram.

Oh Bearded One,
From the research I have done on this topic over the past few years, and from personal trials, I have found a combination of Lavender Oil, Neroli Oil and Helichrysum Oil to work wonders. The Neroli Oil helps quite the rambling mind that won't turn off. The Lavender relaxes the body, and the Helichrysum allows for a deeper sleep.
Helichrysum also helps stimulate the dream state and is helpful in allowing your mind to resolve issues.
If you are interested in these products, we sell these oils individually. We also sell a special therapeutic blend for insomnia.
Sincerely,

I am wondering how to dillute 100% myrrh essential oil for internal use?
I am hoping to regulate my menstration.I am wondering how to dillute 100% myrrh essential oil for internal use?
Who advised you to take it internally? I would think that you should be able to get that info from that person.
There are nutritional supplements that can be helpful to you, you can do that research on your own. Taking Myrrh essential oil internally is not standard practice. I suspect that you have been mislead or that you misunderstood. There are at least 3 different varieties of Myrrh, only the Commiphora myrrha is reported to induce menstruation.
There are many other essential oils that are used to regulate menstruation and hormones. They are generally used topically. You can add them to the bath or apply them diluted to the abdomen. Use a high quality base oil, something light with a high rate of transdermal absorption. Make your dilution around 10%. For a small area of your body you can use a higher % dilution. You can always increase this, but please err on the low side initially.
Melissa, Sweet marjoram, Ravensare, Roses, Clary sage, Mugwort and Parsley.
There are other oils for use as an emmenagogic, or for menorrhagia. Please educate yourself on the indications and contraindications of each essential oil before use.I am wondering how to dillute 100% myrrh essential oil for internal use?
I am a certified aromatherapist and we do not promote the use of essential oils for internal use. It is a dangerous practice and not recommended.
Find a local naturopath in your area and have them give you recommendations for safe a remedy.

Aromatherapy: How to treat skin ';burns'; from thyme essential oil?
Instead of applying a warm compress with thyme essential oil, I made a mistake and applied thyme essential oil neat to my underarm. The skin is literally burned like a chemical burn, and has been red and irritated since Saturday night. How can I treat this to heal the skin and to lessen the burning sensation and redness?Aromatherapy: How to treat skin ';burns'; from thyme essential oil?
How to treat it with oil?
To treat boils, bath the area with hot water and a blend of 3 to 4 drops chamomile, lavender and tea tree twice a day. To treat burns apply ice-cold water for 10 minutes then apply a few drops of either chamomile or lavender directly to the burn. For a dental abscess, put 1 drop of chamomile oil on a cotton ball and apply directly to the abscess. Chamomile flowers also work wonders when used in a warm compress and applied to a swollen jaw, or painful ear.
How to treat it due to the cause of oil:
1. Make sure the cause of the burn has been removed. Try not to come in contact with it yourself. If the chemical is dry, brush off any excess. Avoid brushing it into your eyes. Remove any contaminated clothing or jewelry.
2. Flush the chemicals off the skin surface using cool running water for 15 minutes or more.
3. Treat the victim for shock if he or she appears faint, pale, or if there is shallow, rapid breathing.
4. Apply cool, wet compresses to relieve pain.
5. Wrap the burned area with a dry sterile dressing (if possible) or clean cloth. Protect the burned area from pressure and friction.
6. Minor chemical burns will generally heal without further treatment. However, if there is a second or third degree burn (the skin has blisters covering an area more than 3 inches in diameter) or if there is a systemic (overall body) reaction, get medical help immediately. In severe cases, don't leave the victim alone and watch carefully for systemic reactions.Aromatherapy: How to treat skin ';burns'; from thyme essential oil?

Can anyone recommend an essential oil for psoriasis?
I have this now and it's getting worse. I tried most things available including olive oil in the bathCan anyone recommend an essential oil for psoriasis?
Hi, I have psoriasis nearly 15 years now, and so sick of it... Most of the time I do nothing about it. But when I do get a boost of energy to try and deal with it, I use Argan oil.
I have it on my hands, knees, legs, arms, and ears (but not face chest and back thankfully), so it's pretty extensive.
Anyway, please trust me I'm not a charlatan trying to sell you something, I'm a genuine psoriasis sufferer, and that Argan oil is the best thing I've ever tried (and boy did I try a lot of things).
It's an oil extracted from the fruit of the Argan tree, a morrocan tree that's kind of like an almond tree.
The one I buy is a brown, very greasy, and very musky smelling ointment. The smell is really really strong, so I don't really put it on for going to work, but at home.
Since mine is so extensive, it doesn't take it all away, but makes the redness disappear, and smoothes the skin, makes it feel miles better, and actually reduces the size of the plaques !
If you only have a little psoriasis it might actually make it go away.
I get mine on the French ebay, they ship abroad, it's 20 euros for a smallish pot, shipping is a bit slow because they use the cheapest option. It's really worthwhile though.
I'm giving you the link to the brand that I get, she doesn't seem to have them listed on ebay right now, so that's the shop (that I just discovered myself !). They speak English, so you can email in English.

but there are others on ebay, and they're probably just as good, just watch the argan content, you probably want a good concentration for it to be effective.
Hope that helps, try and get it before it spreads !Can anyone recommend an essential oil for psoriasis?
Have you tried E45 cream? I also have psoriasis, and about 15 minutes ago, noticed that I had quite a large patch of scales on my elbows. I rubbed in some E45 cream, and about 5 minutes later, most of it was gone. Whenever I use it, it clears up completely by the end of the day.
Just to warn you, my psoriasis is quite mild, so if yours is worse, you may not get results quite so quickly.
Tea tree oil kills fungus and bacteria and helps skin heal.
im sorry that you have it =[
Hi, I have psoriasis nearly 15 years now, and so sick of it... Most of the time I do nothing about it. But when I do get a boost of energy to try and deal with it, I use Argan oil.
I have it on my hands, knees, legs, arms, and ears (but not face chest and back thankfully), so it's pretty extensive.

What's the best essential oil for burn marks?
i got burned badly in the sun a few months ago and i had huge blisters. now the blisters are gone but i have white marks on my skin.. i know it takes time for eventually the color to even out but i wanted to know what can i use to speed up the process? THANKS!What's the best essential oil for burn marks?
There are a couple of oils that help to heal that kind of scarring, even the skin tone %26amp; care for the skin in general ...
Try Rosehip oil - its available from the health food store ... its lighter %26amp; more easily absorbed, %26amp; less greasy. Apply a small amount to spot after getting out of a shower, %26amp; your skin will absorb more easily. Massage in.

Another great, healing oil for skin %26amp; scars is vitamin E oil - available from the drugstore. Best way to get is buy vitamin capsules, %26amp; pierce with a sterilised pin %26amp; squeeze the oil out %26amp; apply with your finger tips. Same rule applies to after shower, as for rosehip oil. Just make sure you get oil, not a lotion, as its not as effective for scarring, the oil is more potent.

There is also an oil around specifically for helping with stretch marks, scars, uneven skin tone, etc. Its called BioOil, not sure if they have it where you are. I've never used it, but I know some ppl who swear by it.
